There are quiet a few items that can compromise the Food safety standards of a restaurant. The items can be avoided when the owner watches his employees carefully. This article is going to discuss each of the things that will compromise a business and the health of the patrons.
The first thing that is going to compromise food safety standards is personal hygiene. The germs from their hands can get on the food because they did not wash their hands. Hair that isn’t properly held back can get into food too. And when an employee comes to work when they are sick, those germs can also get into food. It’s easy to see why personal hygiene is a big concern when it comes to food safety standards.
The next thing that has to be dealt with when thinking about Food safety standards is cleanliness. A thorough cleaning for anything that will touch the food is imperative. Tools should be cleaned at the day’s beginning, when there’s a c chance of cross contamination, and when the day’s over. Cross contamination is a real concern in food service.
The third matter in food safety standards is cooking. Monitoring cooking temperatures is the way that this is handled. The temperatures can’t be too low or else it won’t kill the bacteria. That’ s the reason for temperature monitoring, so that the meat is safe to eat.
Another matter of importance in food safety standards is pest control. Most people think of pests as rats and mice, but that is only one form of pest. One of the vermin that springs to mind is the cockroach. Most people are disgusted when they see these little disease carriers. Add them to ants and flies, and you know what other pest problems you can have.
Refrigeration is the final concern for food safety standards. This is going to ensure that the food is fresh and safe to be eaten. The food needs to be kept at the temperature and it should be stored properly so that there isn’t cross contamination. There are minimum temperatures for the freezer and refrigerator, so those should be maintained.
When it comes to Food safety standards, the ones that are listed above are the ones that you should be concerned about. The last thing that you want to do is to have someone get sick at your restaurant because you didn’t pay attention to detail.-
That’s a price that no one should pay.
